- Trucking and commercial vehicle — catastrophic injury or wrongful death, especially cases involving federal motor carrier violations, drug/alcohol testing failures, or hours-of-service violations
- Traumatic brain injury (any mechanism)

- Wrongful death — motor vehicle, premises, product
- Bus and public transit, including MARTA
- Catastrophic burn injury
- Multi-defendant premises liability — negligent security, apartment complex assaults, commercial property injuries
- Motorcycle — serious injury or wrongful death
What we don’t handle
- Workers’ compensation only cases (no PI overlap)
- Cases outside Georgia (not licensed elsewhere)
- Cases where liability is contested and damages are under $100,000
Fee structure
We pay a referral fee of up to one-third (1/3), negotiated directly with the referring attorney on each case. Fees are shared in accordance with Georgia Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(e), with the client’s written consent to the arrangement, and paid upon successful resolution of the case.
What happens after you refer a case
- Initial call with Don — 15–30 minutes to discuss the case profile, injuries, liability posture, and insurance limits.
- Written co-counsel or referral agreement — sent to you within 48 hours. Client consent to fee-sharing collected in writing.
- Case intake and investigation — we handle medical records, expert consultation, and insurance policy exploration.
- Regular updates — you receive status updates at defined milestones (letter of representation, demand, filing, mediation, verdict/settlement).
- Payment at resolution — your referral fee is paid at the same time client funds are disbursed.
About Don Singleton
Donald W. Singleton is a highly respected personal injury trial lawyer with over 30 years of experience representing victims of negligence and recklessness in Atlanta and throughout Georgia. He founded Singleton Law Firm in 1999 to focus his practice exclusively on personal injury and wrongful death.
A career highlight was serving as co-counsel in Johnson v. MARTA, where a Fulton County jury returned a $25 million verdict and the court entered an $18.75 million judgment — the largest ever entered against MARTA. Don has been recognized by Martindale-Hubbell with an AV Preeminent peer rating for over 25 years, by the National Trial Lawyers as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer, and through the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is also featured in Georgia Super Lawyers.
Before founding Singleton Law Firm, Don served as a part-time prosecuting attorney for the City of Holly Springs (1992–1993) and as a partner at Dudley & Singleton (1993–1999). From 2001 to 2007, he served as a part-time Municipal Judge for the City of Kennesaw.
Don earned his A.B. from the University of Georgia (1987) and his J.D. from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law (1990). He is admitted to all Georgia state and appellate courts, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit. He is a current member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.
