### How much does it cost to hire Singleton Law Firm?

You pay nothing unless we win. We work on a contingency fee basis, which means our fee comes as a percentage of the compensation we recover for you. The initial consultation is always free and you can take as much time as you need. If we don’t win your case, you owe us nothing.

### How long do I have to file a claim in Georgia?

Under Georgia Code Section 9-3-33, you have two years from the date of your injury to file a personal injury lawsuit. Wrongful death claims also have a two-year deadline. Medical malpractice has its own rules with a two-year limit and a five-year cap. Missing these deadlines almost always forfeits your right to recover. Don’t wait. Call us early so we can preserve evidence and protect your case.

### What if I was partly at fault for the accident?

You can still recover damages in Georgia as long as you are less than 50% at fault. This is called modified comparative negligence. Your compensation is reduced by your share of fault. For example, if you’re 25% at fault and your damages total $100,000, you would recover $75,000.

Even in our $18.75 million MARTA judgment, the jury found our client 25% at fault and her family still recovered $18.75 million, the largest judgment ever entered against MARTA.

### What compensation can I recover?

Georgia law lets injury victims recover several types of damages: medical expenses (current and future), lost wages and loss of future earning capacity, property damage, pain and suffering, and mental anguish. In cases involving gross negligence or willful misconduct, punitive damages may also be awarded.
